A Dream Come True

My debut novel, Tread Lightly, is out in the world!

If you’ve been following along on my publishing journey via the novel-writing side of my business, elizabethkempwrites (also linked at the top of this page), you’ve seen my domestic thriller news unfold. If you haven’t yet heard the scoop, the novel is available wherever you buy books, and is about a stay-at-home mom with a past who navigates a murder in Silicon Valley. The project has been exciting, and a long time coming.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the collection of wellness-themed posts I’ve written here over the years. Litetherapy has certainly been a spark of much joy for me. I haven’t been able to focus on this side of my site as much as I’d like due to book commitments, but today I’m actually posting something on the intersection of my two writing worlds.

I was recently contacted by booksbywomen.org to submit an essay for their vibrant online magazine called Women Writers, Women’s Books. What fun! The idea was to cover my experience of having published a first novel at the age of fifty-five, and how I was able to stay motivated enough to accomplish that goal. The essay recently went live on their website, and I’ll share the link with you below:

Small Writing Habits Can Equal Big Results

The essay discusses my writing habits. Honestly, though, whether writing a novel is your thing, or it’s another life goal on your radar, I believe the same motivating factors toward achieving any goal hold trueβ€”it’s the integration of small, relevant and manageable habits into a daily routine that can help propel a goal forward. You can take my word for it. It just works.

I hope you enjoy reading the essay. And if you have other thoughts on how best to stay motivated in achieving a goal (something that’s worked well for you?), please feel free to leave a comment. In the meantime, best wishes with your endeavors!
